THE CIVIL WAR

I have authored a series of books about the epic struggles which took place on America's Civil War battlefields. The first two books on the fields at Gettysburg and Vicksburg were released in May 2006. The latest book, Shiloh and Corinth was released in October 2007. These pages offer a glimpse of the images found in those books and a sneak preview of others yet to be published.

"From 2011 to 2015, we will observe the 150th anniversary of a war that threatened to tear our nation apart but in the long run served to make us stronger," Isbell said. "I feel it is important to continue to produce these books. They serve as a means of educating a new generation about the Civil War, which is easily one of the most pivotal and interesting periods in our nation's history." Staying true to his convictions, Isbell is currently working on projects about the battles of Chickamauga and Antietam.
